Services for adults and young people
We offer our clients a safe and secure environment in which we work at our clients pace and towards our clients goals. We respect our clients discomfort and difficulty in disclosing their abuse and do not pressure them in any way to disclose, however we are there for them when they feel secure enough to do so.
We feel that it is very important for our clients to feel in control and have choice throughout our therapy. Axis counselling and psychotherapy was launched in l993 in that time we have helped over four thousand people.
CSA - Childhood Sexual Abuse
The one to one counselling of male and female adult survivors of childhood sexual, physical or emotional abuse from age 13 upwards. Self referral, via GP, Community Mental Health, Community Substance Misuse Teams or other agencies.
CPA - Childhood Physical Abuse
The one to one counselling of male and female adult survivors of childhood physical & emotional abuse from age 13 upwards. Self referral, via GP, Community Mental Health or other agencies.
AXIS Link
The counselling of partners, family or significant others who are in a relationship with a sexual abuse survivor.
Self Help Group
Group therapy for survivors is also offered to those who meet a particular criteria and may be offered after one to one counselling is completed. We have separate groups for male and females.
Rape
The one to one counselling of female and male rape victims. Self referral, via GP, Community Mental Health, Police or other agencies.
Young People
The one to one counselling of young people for the effects of sexual, physical or emotional abuse age 13 upwards. Self referral, via GP, Community Mental Health or other agencies e.g. Connexions or Colleges.
Axis Psychosexual Therapy - APT
The
APT clinic offers a confidential service to those who suffer from a particular sexual dysfunction, whether they are single or in an on-going relationship. This is a vital service, which is offered to survivors of abuse who have suffered historical faulty learning.
This service is also offered to people who have not been sexually abused but will have to be funded by the individual. Please contact us for further details.
Professional Consultancy Service
Axis offers professional support and advice to the Police and Courts with regard to judicial enquiries and trials relating to sexual abuse cases. Expert witness, report or letter writing can be undertaken, please
contact us for scale of fees.
